After disappearing as an admission option at the beginning of 2022, memberships have made a quiet return to Six Flags over Texas.

Dubbed Six Flags Plus, the latest admission option provides unlimited access to all Six Flags parks, general parking, and a 15% food and merchandise discount, all for $11.99/month.

Similar to the previous membership program, there is a 12-month minimum term limit, after which guests can cancel the program at any time (so no, you can’t cheat and get a really cheap 1-time ticket).

So how does it compare to season passes? Cost and benefit-wise, Six Flags Plus fits somewhere in between the Platinum and Diamond season passes.

In an attempt to fairly compare Six Flags Plus to season passes at this point in time, it’s easiest to compare costs for each through the end of 2023 (keeping in mind Six Flags Plus still requires a 12-month minimum).

Six Flags Plus for the 7 remaining months in 2023 would be ~$84, or only $4 more than the Platinum Pass. The ability to attend other Six Flags parks seems like an obvious upgrade for the small cost bump.

The Diamond Pass offers several additional perks over Six Flags Plus, such as higher food/merch discounts, preferred parking, more skip-the-line passes and discounted tickets, and a season drink bottle, for about twice the cost.

While the perk of memberships used to be the ability to pay smaller monthly fees compared to the large one-time fee of season passes, the season passes now offer FlexPay plans (1 larger initial payment + monthly payments for the rest of the season).

With the introduction of Six Flags Plus, it will be interesting to see if members still enrolled in legacy membership programs will ultimately be rolled into the new program or kept as-is.
