Boomtown Area

Created in 1963, the Boomtown area of Six Flags Over Texas is themed after a Texas oil-drilling town, complete with authentic rigging equipment and other theming from the 1900s scattered throughout. Boomtown was the first themed area added to the park after the original six themed areas.

Boomtown is home to two roller coasters, the Runaway Mine Train and Mini Mine Train, as well as the Gunslinger swing ride and the Boomtown Depot—one of the two stops on the Six Flags Railroad.

Featuring a midway of skill games, Boomtown also contains a large open-air bar where an arcade previously existed.
