Six Flags over Texas has announced the opening date of their new-for-2022 ride Pirates of Speelunker Cave. The special preview day for high-end passholders has also been announced.
Pirates of Speelunker Cave will officially to the public on Saturday, May 14, 2022. The park is offering a special preview date for passholders and legacy members on Friday, May 13. More details can be found here.
According to Six Flags over Texas:
Pirates of Speelunker Cave is a re-imagining of one of the park’s first attractions, The Cave, that operated from 1964 until 1991 and will replace the current version of the attraction—Yosemite Sam and the Gold River Adventure. The Cave featured original characters called Speelunkers that were created exclusively for Six Flags Over Texas.
Pirates of Speelunker Cave will feature 26 6-passenger boats, 17 brand-new scenes, state-of-the-art animatronics, and cinema-style, wide-projection technology that will immerse riders in digital and physical sets.
