Six Flags over Texas announced today on social media that its new water ride Aquaman: Power Wave would yet again be delayed, and is now scheduled to open in Spring 2023.

Announced in 2019, Aquaman: Power Wave was originally scheduled to open in 2020, yet was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and park’s closure. The ride was further delayed when park management decided to add a throughput-boosting turntable loading station, requiring re-engineering and re-doing a section of track, not to mention reconfiguring the queue line.

Construction progress has slowly creeped along and likely hit a point where the park projected a ride opening past peak water ride weather, hence moving it to 2023.
