The Six Flags chain announced their new-for-2020 attractions early Thursday morning, confirming the rumors that Six Flags over Texas would be getting a Mack Powersplash titled Aquaman: Power Wave.

The ride will feature two, 148-foot towers on each end. Electromagnets will launch the 20-passenger vehicles at speeds up to 63 mph between the two spikes and 700 feet of track before ending in a splashdown finale.

In El Diablo fashion, Six Flags over Texas is claiming Aquaman: Power Wave to be their 15th coaster, though this ride certainly comes closer to meeting the definition of a roller coaster than El Diablo.

In a previous article we used satellite imagery to mostly dismiss the rumor saying the ride would barely fit in Aquaman Splashdown’s footprint, at least not without impacting other attractions. The renderings reveal the new ride will be a tight fit indeed, with its splashdown pool coming within feet of Pandemonium. It also appears that the basketball game at a minimum will need to be removed to make room for the ride’s tower next to Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters ride.
