Rides at Six Flags Over Texas
Six Flags Over Texas features over 40 rides and attractions, including a number of roller coasters, flat rides, and water rides that offer something for everyone. If it's extreme thrills you're after, Mr. Freeze, Titan, Riddler Revenge, and the new-for-2026 Tormenta Rampaging Run will all apply G-forces or invert you in varying ways. Those wanting a more gentle, family-friendly experience will enjoy the Caddo Lake Barge, Dino Off Road Adventure, and Pirates of Speelunker Cave, to name a few.
Parents with small children can find plenty to do in Bugs Bunny Boomtown with several rides requiring no minimum height if the child rides with an adult.
With Six Flags Over Texas being the first Six Flags park, it also contains a number of historically significant rides. El Aserradero is the world's first log flume ride, while the Runaway Mine Train is the first tubular steel coaster with traditional trains, to name a few. The park even contains a few rides older than the park itself, including the Silver Star Carousel (created in 1926) and the engines used on the Six Flags Railroad (made in 1897 and 1901).
If you're interested in a small subset of Six Flags Over Texas' past rides, our Ride Retrospectives special feature highlights some of the park's most well known and memorable former attractions such as the Big Bend roller coaster, La Salle's River Adventure themed water ride, and the Astrolift.
Height Requirements
Six Flags Over Texas rides have height requirements to ensure each rider can be safely secured by the attraction’s restraint system. The standard minimum height for a ride is shown with a dark‑blue icon and listed in inches.
Accompanied Height Requirements
Some attractions also have a lower accompanied height requirement, shown with a light‑blue icon, which applies when a child rides with a supervising adult. When this secondary requirement is listed as “None,” it means there is no minimum height for accompanied riders. However, lap children are generally not permitted and must be able to sit upright on their own.
The park’s accessibility guide identifies four attractions that do allow hand‑held infants (lap children) when accompanied by a supervising adult:
- Silver Star Carousel
- Dino Off‑Road Adventure
- Oil Derrick
- Pirates of Speelunker Cave
Height Requirement Tips
Parents may visit Guest Relations to have their child 'officially' measured and receive a height wristband for convenience. However, note that ride operators may still re‑measure any rider and make the final determination for safety.
The park explicitly prohibits footwear that artificially increases a rider’s height.
