Batman the Ride is a high-thrill inverted roller coaster that debuted at Six Flags over Texas for the 1999 season. Batman the Ride’s seats hang beneath the track letting riders freely swing their legs as they race through inversions and high-speed turns, making for a unique sensation.
Although not the largest or fastest ride at a 105-foot lift hill and 50 mph top speed, Batman is still one of the most intense rides at Six Flags over Texas. Located in the Gotham City area, Batman packs five inversions in a small footprint: two vertical loops, two corkscrews (or flat spins as B&M refers to them), and a zero-G roll.
Famed Swiss coaster designers Bolliger and Mabillard (B&M) designed Batman the Ride’s layout originally for Six Flags Great America in 1992. Its enormous success led to a total of 12 rides being installed worldwide with identical or mirrored layouts, including versions at nearby Six Flags Fiesta Texas (Chupacabra) and Sea World San Antonio (Great White).
