Rumors began flowing after the park showed a cryptic slide during a presentation at ACE’s annual Lone Star Coasterthon event, stating 9/11/22 would be the “last day” to ride Mr. Freeze .

Though the park hasn’t confirmed what actually is happening to Freeze, theories in the coaster community include:

  • Refurbishing the ride/queue
  • Re-theming the ride (though it was just repainted back to its near-original blue-on-blue paint scheme)
  • Replacing the LIMs with more energy-efficient LSMs
  • Removing the ride altogether (thrown around prior to the park’s clarification post, but seemingly disproven now)
