Six Flags over Texas kicked off its 2018 season February 24th and GuideToSFoT was there to check out what was new and in progress.
Mother nature was not kind for the park’s Saturday morning opening with rainy conditions and temperatures in the 50s. By mid-day conditions improved for park-goers.
New Entry Line for Gold Plus Passholders
One of the first noticeable additions for 2018 is an exclusive entry line for the new Gold Plus membership, which effectively replaces the Gold memberships the park no longer offers.

The End of Arcades?
The Boomtown game strip looked considerably different without the Boomtown Arcade capping it off. Torn down over the off-season, the park is likely replacing the arcade with a new bar promising to have a “scenic patio” where guests can enjoy craft beers, wines, and cocktails.

Meanwhile the arcade near the Texas/Old South border was also largely inoperable, leading one to question if the arcades may be on their way out of the park altogether.

New self-service food kiosks give guests paying with credit cards a convenient way to order their food and skip the line.

Out with the Old Harley Quinn
The Crazy Legs ride that had a brief re-theming as Harley Quinn Spinsanity was removed altogether since a ride of the same name is set to debut closer to Summer.
